Plot Summary
Lani dreams of leaving Hill Town and touring the country like she did with her dad when he was alive. Even her hot boyfriend Rick can't stand in her way, and when a lawyer comes to the diner where she works, it looks like she might finally have a way out. If only she decided to leave sooner...
When animals start to die mysteriously, the town gossips are out in force, but they have no idea what is really going on. Hill Town is about to be plunged into Hell.
A fight for survival...
With a pit open in the forest that leads nowhere good, creatures are escaping and snacking on the residents and it will only get worse before the night is over. Lani and Rick try to figure out a way to stop it, but time is running out. By dawn, He will rise and the world as they know it will be over.
Can they shut the pit in time?
Welcome to Hell Town.
Book Review
The following review was originally published by Tera on her Blog, A Succubi's Tale on May 24, 2019
It’s a bad day in town that just gets worse when horrors start to appear and things go to hell. There might be a chance to be heroes and save the world, but that won’t be the simplest thing to do.
The wark is a horror adventure which tells the story of the main characters having to deal with hell being unleashed on them and how they try to deal with it and the beings they encounter. Quite fast paced, the story really doesn’t stop or pause and it’s very much one challenge after the next to overcome.
Along the way, the main characters encounter a succubus, who is never named, and overall she’s really not that interesting. She consumes a soul, is a bit threatening, then wanders off before they encounter her again before vanishing from the story. Being she is such a minor character she was never going to be more than a passing encounter and it’s a bit of a shame as I really wanted to know more about her. She didn’t need to be the source of all evil in the town or anything like that, but there were opportunities she could have been in to cause problems for the other characters and she didn’t.
Two out of five pitchforks.
I just don’t enjoy horror stories and as the succubus in this work was there for barely two or three pages, the rest of the story just wasn’t at all interesting. That’s not to say someone that likes horror will not enjoy this work, but as my interests are so very specific, I just didn’t.
