Maria's blood sister, Ruby is spiritually the most powerful member of the Lilithborne family, being the modern day incarnation of the goddess of the moon, Selene. As such, her powers include absolute control over the dreams of others, a hypnotic, calming gaze and the ability to heal souls. It is through her ability to heal souls that Ruby can heal bodies, and she is the resident medic of the Lilithborne household.

In her mortal life, Ruby was a nurse and so has some knowledge of mortal medicine as well, but only uses it to guide her healing anatomically and as a last resort when spiritual methods do not work. Her personality is very quiet and unassuming, but her words carry serious power and bodies obey her commands before their owner's minds can process the statements.

Much of her initial knowledge came from her attempts to heal Glynis, who was sick with a virus that destroyed her immune system. Ruby's efforts gave Glynis immortality, but at a cost - her body was far too weak to sustain any kind of pleasure. Glynis is Ruby's greatest regret and when Danny and Julie came to the household with physical problems of their own, Ruby did her best to avoid the mistakes she made with Glynis.

In "Children of the Mist", it is revealed that Ruby has the power to possess a human soul temporarily, although it's suggested that the human has to do so willingly. It is also said to be something that only Ruby can do.

  • In "The Vertical Event", Ruby takes the image of Adia Barton, a nurse who was loyal to Selene. Adia later appears as her true self in "Children of the Mist", although she mostly serves as a conduit for Ruby.
  • Julie initially mishears Ruby's true name as "Celina".
  • Maria and Lupe are Ruby's blood sisters.
  • Ruby was named after the Smashing Pumpkins song "Thru The Eyes of Ruby".
  • Ruby's screen name is "PostitNotes".
