Plot Summary

Life is kind to some people—others it chases around the yard with a hard stick.

Jessie had been chased with that proverbial stick all her meager existence and she had become quite expert at avoiding it. But with the bad she had also learned to avoid the good, leaving her well on her way to becoming the first spinster in her estranged family… and she’s only twenty-two! Stuck in a boring and unfulfilling job with zero prospects, having dropped out of college, and with no one to turn to besides her eccentric roommate and her evil cats, Jessie had given up on finding happiness in her life, the only reprieve from her existence being the sensuous, repeat visitations of an enigmatic stranger into her very dreams… When a spontaneous act of defiance puts Jessie between a magical book and a shady organization hell-bent on taking it, Jessie’s fantasies become Jessie’s reality, including the visitor himself—the man who is really no man at all, but something else entirely. Together, the two must protect the book… and have a lot of fun with each other in the process.

Jessie is about to learn that life… is more f****ing crazy than she could ever imagine.
